NOW THAT’S WHAT I’M TALKING ABOUT

A beat down of the Cleveland Browns is always fun to watch. Sorry Joe you got squashed in the process of the 41-17 Ravens win. The Ravens home opener was not a surprise, but after the let down week 1, I did breath a sigh of relief at the end of the game. Unlike week 1 the true Ravens defense was dominant causing Joe to throw more passes to the benches than he did to his receivers. Roquan was a beast covering the entire football field, including a scoop and score in the 4th quarter to help put this game out of reach for the Browns. Lamar and the Ravens offense got off to a slow start with only a field goal in the first quarter, but without the help of Derrick Henry and the running game they gained momentum as the game went on. With four passing touchdowns, zero turnovers, scoring 41 points it would lead you to think the stat board would look pretty good, but no, with only 45 rushing yards and 242 total offensive yards how did we score 41 points? I just don’t know but as I always say I’ll take a ugly win over a pretty loss any day.

This week the Ravens play the Detroit Lions in Baltimore on Monday Night Football. Good thing I know who is going to win this game, the Ravens of course. Don’t ask the bookies the out come of this game because they don’t have a clue based on the point spread anywhere from Ravens -2.5 to Ravens -7.5. I can understand the confusion, week 1 the Lions scored 13 points against the Packer then last week put up 52 point against the Bears. One would think the Ravens are more like the Packers than the Bears. The 13 points the lions scored against the Packers included their only touchdown during trash time late in the 4th quarter. So, with only a two week sample size I can understand why Vegas doesn’t know how to score this game but again I do Ravens 38 Lions 10.

GO RAVENS!!!

Remember don’t bet the rent money on my picks, they are who we want to win not who we think will win.

(3-0) Bills beat (0-3) Dolphins 31 – 21
The Bills are going to be tough to catch with the powder puff schedule they have

Sunday 1:00

(1-1) Patriots over (1-1) Steelers
In New England, the Steelers defense will have a hard day containing second year QB Drake Maye. Pittsburgh’s defense is not good.

(2-0) Packers over (0-2) Browns
The Browns will remain winless.

(1-1) Vikings over (2-0) Bengals
The battle of the backups. Joe Burrow will be out for three months with a big toe boo boo. The Vikings will start backup Carson Wentz and the Bengals will start some guy name Jake Brown.

(1-1) Commander over (1-1) Raiders
NFC over AFC

(2-0) Buccaneers over (0-2) Jets
Rooting for Baker Mayfield again this week.

(0-2) Titans over (2-0) Colts
Just don’t root for the Colts.

Sunday 4:00

(1-1) Broncos over (2-0) Chargers
Can’t root for Jim Harbaugh this week the Chargers have a better record than we do.

(1-1) Cowboys over (0-2) Bears
This should be no problem for the Cowboys in Chicago.

Sunday Night 8:00

(0-2) Giants over (0-2) Chiefs
That’s right the Chiefs are 0-2 and we are hoping they are 0-3 after Sunday Night.

Monday Night 8:00

(1-1) RAVENS over (1-1) Lions
We almost beat Josh Allen week 1 we smashed Joe Flacco week 2 and we face Lions QB Jared Goff who is somewhere between Allen and Flacco. Even though the Ravens defensive line is a little banged up with Kyle Van Noy and Nnamdi Madubuike out for Monday Night we will have no problem containing Goff. The Ravens are the number one scoring team in the NFL, but I’m not sure how. Our Run game has not gotten off to a good start. Derrick Henry has 192 yards rushing, just OK for Derrick, Lamar has 82 rushing yards not bad for a Quarterback, but for the rest of the team a total of 8 yards rushing. Justice Hill has negative 7 yards! This all changes on Monday Night. The Lions defense can’t stop our running game which will set up for a long night for the Lions secondary and Lamar throwing for at least another four touchdowns. We could top another 40 points again this week.

Enjoy the games with a cold beer knowing the honey do job list can wait until next week, no… maybe the following week, no… maybe after the Super Bowl.

GO RAVENS!!!

An that’s just The View From 151.

NOT AGAIN!

I thought we had moved past this. Blowing a 15 point lead with four minutes to go in the game was not going to happen with this team. But a couple of Lamar bounce passes (they may count in basketball, but don’t in football), the top rated secondary that couldn’t stop Josh Allen, a fumble, a missed extra point, and an offensive three and out, all in the last half of the fourth quarter did happen. Now, how was I suppose to go to sleep after that? I couldn’t! And that’s all I’m going to say about that.

The focus is now on Joe Flacco and the Browns. Well, maybe one more thing about last week. The Chiefs lost and, if we had beaten the Bills, we would be one game up on the teams we will be battling for playoff seeds at the end of the season. Every NFL game is a big game, even Week 1. Back to the Browns, I may have had a twinge of softness for Flacco last week but the gloves are off this week. We can’t afford another loss. Joe Flacco is no Josh Allen so our defense should have a great day. The Browns defense may be better than the Bills defense, so we can’t have any more bounce passes this week. Speaking of last week, I must say Jaire Alexander’s play was very disappointing. The Ravens offensive line has typically played well against Myles Garrett keeping him off Lamar. You know, if you take one item off that list of mistakes last week, I think we win that game. I’m sorry for dwelling in the past, but last week’s loss is going to sting for a while. We just need to move on to week 2 and the Browns.

This week’s divisional game at home is a must win. We just can’t go 0-2 like last year. There I go again, living in the past. But it’s true, The Steelers and the Bengals both won last week and that’s just a fact not me obsessing on the past. We need to beat the Browns! Period!

GO RAVENS!!!

My picks this week. Remember don’t bet the mortgage on my picks. They are who we want to win not who we think will win.

Thursday Night 8:00

Commanders VS Packers
NFC match up, you Pick’em.
This should be a good match up of two undefeated teams. The two young QBs could light this up. Enjoy the show.

Sunday 1:00

RAVENS over Browns
The battle of two winless teams thanks to last week’s loss to the Bills. The Ravens are stacked with notable, outstanding players. Besides Joe Flacco and Myles Garrett, name me one other player on the Browns. How can we not win this game? Joe threw more interceptions than he did touchdowns last week. He won’t get any touchdowns this week, while the Ravens secondary pads the stats with three interceptions. Joe will be running for his life, while Lamar is running for touchdowns. This game’s not even going to be close. Ravens win with Lamar resting in the fourth quarter.

GO RAVENS!!!

Jaguars over Bengals
The Bengals only scored 17 points last week, they did not look good.

Seahawks over Steelers
Please Seahawks, beat the Steelers for us.

Jets over Bills
I won’t go into what happened last week. We just want the Jets to win.

Rams over Titans
NFC over AFC

Bears vs Lions
You Pick’em
Both NFC North teams who need a win.

Patriots over Dolphins
I think out of these two teams the Dolphins have a better chance of challenging the Ravens for a playoff seed.

Cowboys over Giants
Rooting for our Cowboy fan friends.

Sunday 4:00

Broncos over Colts
Of course.

Eagles over Chiefs
Wouldn’t it be nice if the Chiefs started the season 0-2?

Sunday Night 8:00

Falcons over Vikings
For the Packer fans out there.

Monday Night 7:00PM

That’s right, note the 7:00PM start. We have two games on Monday Night.

Buccaneers over Texans
NFC over AFC
As much as I don’t like it we are rooting for Baker Mayfield this week.

And the second act is…

Monday Night 10:00PM (of course the game we may be interested in starts at 10:00PM)

Chargers over Raiders
An AFC West match up. We are rooting for Jim Harbaugh.

Enjoy the games with friend.

And that’s just The View from 151.

GO RAVENS!!

AND THEN THERE WERE 53

As we look past the last 6 months of noisy mock drafts and training camp pontification, it all comes down to a Tuesday afternoon when the Ravens 53 man roster is posted. We get to see whose dreams are dashed and who gets to call their Mom with a slight tear in their eye and say, “Mom, I made the team”. We now know who we are moving forward with into the regular season down to the last three undrafted free agents Lowery, Martin, and Higgins. It is rare that one undrafted free agent makes an NFL team, let alone three. Choosing the 53rd player can be more difficult than choosing the first 52. There can be 40 guys trying out for that one 53rd spot. But this why I love the game of football, it’s the ultimate team sport where even the last guy on the roster is relevant. Although the conspiracy theorist in me says the reason the Ravens have three inexpensive undrafted free agents on this season’s roster is so we can afford Kyle Hamilton’s new contract, way to go Kyle you earned it.

The Ravens 2025 team is stacked with talented and confident players, but hopefully not overconfident. We get thrown directly into the fire week one against the Buffalo Bills. The Bills ended our Super Bowl dreams last season in the Divisional Playoff game at Buffalo, where we go this week. So, what’s different this time? Not a lot, the Bills are still one of the best teams in the NFL and so are the Ravens, the game is in Buffalo again, both teams had and have healthy QB1s, both defenses are rated in the top 10, Zay Flowers was hurt and didn’t play in the playoffs last season,…. wait I think we found the difference maker, Zay Flowers is healthy and will play in this week one game. I looked at the last game and still say if we had a healthy Zay Flowers playing we win the game soundly in stead of losing the game by two points.

To remind you, I am just a guy who bleeds purple and black, who sits in section 151, who’s decision whether or not to get out of bed on Monday morning is decided if the Ravens won or lost on Sunday. So, I make my picks with the eye of how the outcome of the game will help the Ravens or hurt the Steelers, Browns, or Bengals and in that order.

Here are my picks of what teams we should root for or against. Remember, don’t bet the beer money on my picks they are who we want to win not who we think will win.

GO RAVENS!!!

WEEK 1

Thursday NIght 8:00
Eagles over Cowboys
The Eagles are the reining Super Bowl Champs and could be back in the big game again this season. As for the Cowboys, sadly they will make more headlines off the field than they will on the field.

Friday Night 8:00 (That’s right, Friday night)
Chargers over Chiefs
Surprise, Surprise. Patrick Mahomes is on Prime Time again. The Chiefs will be competing against the Ravens for Playoff seeding at the end of the regular season. Rooting against the Chiefs.

Sunday 1:00

Browns over Bengals
This is a lessor of two evils pick. But a little of me is rooting for Joe Flacco, just a week before he comes to Baltimore to play the Ravens week 2 and gets the beat-down of his life.

Jets over Steelers
Need I say more?

Dolphins over Colts
We always roost against the Colts when we can.

Commanders over Giants
We like to root for the Commanders when we can.

Sunday 4:00

Rams over Texans
Rooting for the NFC team over the AFC team as we will do throughout the season.

Packers over Lions
This could be a great game to watch before the Ravens play at 8:00. Rooting for our Packer fans.

Sunday 8:00
Ravens over Bills

That’s right Lamar Jackson and the Ravens are on Prime Time where they belong.
Week 1 when the starters finally play. Neither of the teams played their starters in preseason. Will there be some rust to knock off? Maybe. Will Lamar be Prime Time ready? Yes he will! Along with the rest of the offense, Henry, Flowers, Andrews, and the O-line will all be ready. The defense is ready, Smith, Hamilton, Humphrey, and the D-line are all ready to go! I am excited to see what this Ravens team can do on the road against Josh Allen and the Bills.

GO RAVENS!!!

Monday Night 8:00

Bears over Vikings
Rooting for the home team. Because we all know what it’s like to sit in M&T and have to the Ravens lose.

Enjoy the games like you haven’t seen a NFL Regular season game in eight months!

And that’s just The View From 151.

GO RAVENS!!!

STEELER WEEK

I know it’s been a while but I just couldn’t miss Steeler week.

Sometimes you lose by a point and sometimes you win by a point. We were lucky enough to win by a point last Thursday night and, may I reiterate, lucky. After getting caught for almost a dozen penalties somehow we didn’t get called for roughing the passer or defensive holding on the Bengals 2 point conversion. The only explanation I have is, the referee’s arms were to tired to throw the flags. I will take the win any way we can.

So, do you think Lamar and the Ravens offense can put up 50 points on the Steelers? We may need to.

The Ravens travel to Pittsburgh to face the first place Steelers on Sunday. The Steelers are coming off a tough one point win against the Commanders who we defeated easily in week 6. In the games before the Commanders the Steelers have gone 3-2 against weak teams like the Giants, Jets and Cowboys. So how good are the Steelers? We will find out on Sunday.

GO RAVENS!!!

Remember don’t bet the beer money on my picks, they are who we want to win not who we thinks will win.

Thursday night 8:00

7-3 Commanders vs 7-2 Eagles
You pick’em
Eagles win.

Sunday 1:00

7-3 RAVENS over Steelers
The Raven’s number one offense will be tested by the Steeler’s defense or should I say the Steeler’s defense will be tested by Lamar and our offense since Pittsburgh has not played an offense the caliber of the Ravens. While the focus will be on the Ravens offense, the Ravens defense could have a big game. Russell Wilson and the Steelers offense likes to run the ball playing right into the Ravens strength. Look for the Ravens to harass Wilson all day and add to our sack total. This is the first AFC North divisional game for the Steelers and the winner will hold the top spot. The Ravens are favored by 3.5 points, I say take the Ravens minus the points, this game is not going to be close.

GO RAVENS!!!

6-3 Packers over the 4-5 Bears
The Packers need this to keep pace with the Lions.

3-7 Saints over 2-7 Browns
This would end the Browns season.

6-4 Falcons over 5-5 Broncos
NFC over AFC

Sunday 4:00

8-2 Bills over 9-0 Chiefs
We need this for the AFC standing.

Sunday night 8:00

6-3 Chargers over 4-6 Bengals
This could end the Bengals season.

Monday night 8:00

3-6 Cowboys over 6-4 Texans
NFC over AFC
The Cowboys need this win or their season could be over.

Enjoy the games knowing the forecasted wind will be blowing the leaves you were supposed to rake up into your neighbor’s yard.

GO RAVENS!!!
And that’s just The View From 151.

LET’S GO PIRATE HUNTING!

Screenshot

We have packed up The View from 151 and hit the road heading into pirate infested waters.

This week we and when I say “we” I don’t mean the royal we, I mean Sheila and I are taking the camper and driving to Tampa to root on the Ravens in person.  Wish us luck, it should be fun!

The Commanders were who we thought they were. A team who has yet to beat a winning team.  Was it a good game, did the rookie quarterback spend the entire game running for his life, did the Ravens run all over the Commanders defense?  A resounding yes to all three.  The Commanders defense had no answers for what Lamar and the Ravens offense ran or threw at them.  Another great win last week.

This week on Monday Night Football we meet up with our old nemesis Baker Mayfield.  Mayfield may have changed his uniform, but his story is the same.  Baker can be white hot on fire one week and stone cold the next.  Well, he was hot last week beating the lowly Saints. The Bucs can beat the struggling teams, but the Ravens are no struggling team, they bring one of the top offenses in the league and a resilient bend -don’t break defense that does not allow the opposition to keep up with our high-powered offense.

GO RAVENS!!!

Remember don’t bet your travel budget on my picks. My picks are who we want to win not who we think will win.

We have another Sunday morning game to watch so… wait the Jaguars are playing in London again this week, so you may want to sleep in and store some sleep to stay up and watch the Ravens Monday night.

Thursday Night 8:00

4-3 Bronco 33 2-5 Saints 10
This is not what we wanted but is shows how bad the Saints are.

Sunday 9:30AM

1-5 Patriots VS 1-5 Panthers
You pick’em
Definitely not worth getting up early for.

Sunday 1:00

1-5 Browns over 2-4 Bengals
It’s all about the win-loss records.

1-4 Titans over 4-2 Bills
Rooting for the Bills to lose.

4-2 Packers over 5-1 Texans
Rooting against the Texans who have a better record than the Ravens.

4-1 Lions VS 5-0 Vikings
You pick’em
After the Ravens game this may be the game of the week.

Sunday 4:00

3-3 49ers over 5-0 Chiefs
Need the Chiefs to lose.

Sunday night 8:00

2-4 Jets over 4-2 Steelers
Think positive thoughts. Arron Rodgers you can do this!

Monday Night 8:15

4-2 RAVENS over 4-2 Buccaneers
Look for The Ravens secondary have a good night. Mayfield is a wannabee gun slinger, he likes to chuck the ball deep but our secondary will be the players on the other end catching the ball. Lamar and Derrick will do what they do…just score touchdowns.

GO Ravens!!!

Another Monday Night game 9:00

2-4 Cardinals over 3-2 Chargers
NFC over AFC
Sorry Jim, please don’t have a heart attack.

Enjoys the games.

And that’s just The View from 151.

GO RAVENS!!!

Week 6: Ravens vs Commanders

Last week in Cincinnati was one of the wildest games I have ever watched. 10 touchdowns and 2 field goals totaling 79 points, I hope you had the over for this one. With all the back and forth, up and down it came down to three plays. Marlon Humphery’s interception late in the fourth quarter, Justin Tucker’s 56 yard field goal to tie the game, and his game winning field goal in overtime. Honorable mention goes to Cincinnati’s kicker for missing the field goal in overtime. To come away from that game with a road win is huge!

This week is the battle of the beltways. The 4-1 Commanders come to M&T Sunday at 1:00.

Excuse me while I geek out on the numbers for a little while. By the numbers, I just can’t help but see how close these two teams are. The NFL power rankings came out with the Ravens at #5 and the Commanders at #6. Lamar leads the #2 scoring offense, Washington has the #1. Baltimore has the #1 running offense. Guess who has the #2 running offense? You got it, the Commanders. The Ravens defense can’t stop the pass but neither can the Commanders. Our defense is the best at stopping the run, wait… we may have found the Commanders weakness. Yes we did! They are one of the worst teams at stopping the run. Can you say Derrick Henry all day long? And I found one other item very interesting. You may be impressed by Washington’s 4-1 record but not so fast. They have not beaten a team with a winning record, their one loss was to the 3-2 Buccaneers. The wins were all against teams with losing records. The Ravens have a well earned 3-2 winning record. So, if you are still with me after slugging through all the numbers, it looks like the Ravens will win at home on Sunday.

GO RAVENS!!!

These are my picks for who we want to win this week. Remember don’t bet the beer money on my picks, they are who we want to win not who we think will win.

Thursday 8:00

3-2 Seahawks over 2-3 49ers
Both NFC teams, so it doesn’t effect the Ravens much. We like to root for the home team because we all know what it’s like to be sitting in your home stadium and have your team lose.

Set an early alarm. We have another Sunday morning game.

Sunday 9:30AM

3-2 Bears over 1-4 Jaguars
Can you say “the Jaguars are on the clock” for the first pick in next year’s draft?

Sunday 1:00

3-2 Ravens over 4-1 Commanders
Let me get this out of the way: I would like to thank the Commanders for beating the Browns last week, but it doesn’t take much to beat the Browns.
Washington has a starting rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels, who some have said is like Lamar Jackson. Let me make this perfectly clear, Jayden Daniels is no Lamar Jackson.
The Ravens Defense is averaging 4 sacks a game and will feast on some fresh rookie meat this week. Look for a game plan much like what the Ravens had against Buffalo. Quick screens with pulling linemen and feeding Henry the ball. Derrick will exceed 200 yards rushing, keeping the Commanders offense off the field. This will be another fun game to watch.

GO RAVENS!!!

3-2 Packers over 2-3 Cardinals
Rooting for the home team and our Packer fan friends.

1-4 Patriots over 4-1 Texans
Rooting for the Patriots to beat the Texans who have a better record than the Ravens.

2-2 Eagles over 1-4 Browns
This should be a easy win for Philly at home.

1-3 Titans over 2-3 Colts
Sorry Joe it’s all about the win / loss records in the AFC.

Sunday 4:00

2-2 Chargers over 3-2 Broncos
We play both of these team later this season.

2-3 Raiders over Steelers
Even though technically we are in first place of the AFC North, I still can’t mention the Steelers record.

3-2 Cowboys over 3-1 Lions
I would like to personally thank the Cowboys for beating the Steelers last Sunday night.

Sunday Night 8:00

2-3 Giants over 1-4 Bengals
Joe Burrow put a lot of points on the score board last week but The Ravens put up more. It’s great to see the Bengals at 1-4.

Monday Night 8:00

2-3 Jets over 3-2 Bills
The Jets fired their head coach this week, let’s see if that helps.

BYE week: Chiefs, Vikings, Rams, Dolphins

Enjoy the games, while raising a glass to all the people affected by the storms and to all the people helping them.

And that’s just The View From 151.

GO RAVENS!!!

AN UNSTOPPABLE FORCE

The Ravens offense was an unstoppable force against the Bills defense who put 10, and many times 11, in the box within 10 yards of the line of scrimmage. The Bills just couldn’t stop what the Ravens threw at them. Up the middle, to the left, to the right, down the field, pulling linemen, it just didn’t matter. Starting with the first Ravens play from scrimmage, a 87 yard touchdown run by Derrick Henry, the Bills had no answer. The Ravens scored touchdowns on the their first three offensive possessions. I have never seen Justice Hill run so fast, the delayed catches and runs were amazing. Lamar threw the ball with zip and pin point accuracy. The part of the Ravens game plan that impressed me the most was the play of the offensive line. Those guys were running all over the field. The O line has had their troubles with run and pass blocking, so the way to correct that is to eliminate it from the game plan. No need to conventionally block when you are running sweeps and pulling left to misdirect the defense when the real play is going right. It almost brought a tear to my eye to see the brilliance that was the Ravens offense last week. And how about Justin Tucker… no, wait, did Justin kick a game winning field goal like I said he would in the last blog? No he did not, he didn’t need to. Has this ever happened before? The Ravens scored a touchdown on every scoring possession they had. While Justin was perfect on extra points he wasn’t asked to kick any field goals because we were scoring touchdowns. Again, I say has that ever happened before? I don’t think so. I will need to up the View from 151’s research budget and find out. Truly if anyone out there knows please message me back. It was like Justin had the day off. Oh, by the way our defense held the NFL’s highest scoring team to only ten points. As you know I am a defensive guy and I would have normally gone off on the great play of our defense but I just can’t get over how fantastic our offense was. GREAT GAME!

GO RAVENS!!!

Remember don’t bet your leftover Orioles playoff ticket money on my picks since they are who we want to win not who we think will win.

Thursday Night 8:00

2-2 Falcons over 3-1 Buccaneers
Just because we don’t like Baker Mayfield, and we get to crush him Week 7 on Monday Night Football.

Sunday Morning 9:30AM

4-0 Vikings over 2-2 Jets
The Vikings will not get Jet lagged from the flight to London.

Sunday 1:00

2-2 RAVENS over 1-3 Bengals
The Ravens take their running show, passing show, and defensive show on the road to Cincinnati to face Joe Burrow and the Bengals. Both teams are coming off wins last week. The Ravens beat an undefeated Bills team and the Bengal got their first win against a winless Jaguars team. While Joe Burrow has not been bad he does like to get sacked a lot, playing into our defense who loves to terrorize quarterbacks. The Bengals defense can’t stop the run, need I same more? I’m excited to see what the game plan is for our offensive line!

GO RAVENS!!!

3-1 Commanders over 1-3 Browns
At 1-3, the Browns are who we thought they were: “The Browns”.

3-1 Bills over 3-1 Texans
I don’t know if the Bills can even show up this week after the beat down they got last week.

0-4 Jaguars over 2-2 Colts
I would like to thank Joe Flacco and the Colts for beating the Steelers last week.

1-3 Dolphins VS 1-3 Patriots
You pick’em
The Patriots only win was against the Bengals.

Sunday 4:00

2-2 Broncos over 2-2 Raiders
We play the Broncos week 9 so we will beat them then.

2-2 Packers over 1-3 Rams
For our Packer fan friends.

Sunday Night 8:00

2-2 Cowboys over Steelers
I refuse to mention the Steelers record until we have a better record.

Monday Night 8:00

2-2 Saints over 4-0 Chiefs
Say your prayers. The Saints are going to need them.

Don’t forget to set the alarm to go off early Sunday. We have football at 9:30AM!

Enjoy the games with a cold one and a friend.

I hope I didn’t forget to mention how impressed I was with our offensive line.

And that’s just The View From 151.

GO RAVENS!!!

ANOTHER PRIME-TIME GAME

OK, I was not able to post after weeks one and two. I say as usual I work too much and didn’t have time to write the post. Some might say that after a Ravens loss, I just can’t gather myself together enough to put two coherent sentences down that would make any sense. Now that may be true it is difficult to face the world after a loss. I have now come out of the basement this week to savor a Ravens win and take on whatever challenge the football world has to throw my way. That challenge this week is the 3-0 Buffalo Bills Sunday night in Baltimore.

So from now on the magic number is 22. The Ravens need to be leading by 22 going into the fourth quarter in order to win the game. I was watching the game with my brother when I turned to him during the third quarter and said “Man we should have gone to Dallas for this game. It would have been great to see the Ravens beat the Cowboys in the house Jerry built”. Then came the fourth quarter, and Dallas scored and scored again AND SCORED AGAIN! This was getting way out of hand when finally Lamar and the offense were able to get a first down to run out the clock for a road win. As I always say, ” I will take an ugly win over a pretty loss any day”.

This week we play the 3-0 Bills on Sunday night at M&T. We will need some good home cooking and a little luck to beat Buffalo and the referees. Don’t get me started on the refs. Well, I’m already there. I’m not a conspiracy guy so I won’t go there, but what I will go to is that the referees are just awful with bogus calls and no calls, they all seem to go against the Ravens at pivotal times in the game, and this has been in all three games. So the luck part is that we get an officiating crew that knows what they’re doing and has 20/20 vision. The home cooking is to fuel the defense to give them stamina to play all four quarters.

GO RAVENS!!!

Who we are rooting for or against. Remember my picks are who we want to win not who we think will win. So don’t bet the beer money on my picks.

Thursday Night 8:00

1-2 Cowboys over 1-2 Giants
This is a big divisional game for both teams who need a win to keep pace with Washington and Philadelphia. We are rooting for Dallas and our Cowboy fan friends.

Sunday 1:00

1-2 Panthers over 0-3 Bengals
Currently there are only three winless teams in the NFL and I am happy to inform you the Bengals are one of them. Rooting for the home team Panthers.

2-1 Packers over 3-0 Vikings
Another big divisional game, the Packers need to catch up to the Vikings. Rooting for Green Bay at home.

0-3 Jaguars over 2-1 Texans
Rooting against Houston at home.

1-2 Colts over Steelers
Nope not going to do it. This is not a misprint. I deliberately omitted the Steelers win loss record because I just couldn’t bring myself to acknowledge it. Rooting against the Steelers as we do every week.

1-2 Broncos over 2-1 Jets
Something is terribly wrong here, the Jets have a better recorder than the Ravens. The world truly must be upside down. Rooting for the Broncos on the road.

2-1 Eagles over 2-1 Buccaneers
Rooting for the Eagles to beat Baker Mayfield.

1-2 Falcons over 2-1 Saints
Now that Matt Ryan is gone we can root for Atlanta at home.

Sunday 4:00

2-1 Commanders over 1-2 Cardinals
Rooting for Washington.

1-2 49er over 1-2 Patriots
NFC over AFC

2-1 Chargers over 3-0 Chiefs
The Chiefs need to be humbled and maybe a few penalties go against them.

1-2 Raiders over 1-2 Browns
The world is just not right when the Ravens and the Browns have the same losing record.

Sunday Night

1-2 Ravens over 3-0 Bills
Well it’s just like I have been telling you, the world is definitely out of balance. The proof is the Ravens offense is ranked number one in the league and our defense is ranked twenty third per NFL.com. If that doesn’t say it, I don’t know what does. The Bills are good but not that good. Who have they beaten? 1-2 Dolphins, 1-2 Cardinals, and 0-3 Jaguars, so nobody. The Ravens are 1-2 by a toe out of the end zone and a couple of bad calls. It may not look like we are a good team, but we are. Lamar and Derick will run all over the Bills and control the clock. Our defense will harass Josh Allen all night long. This is going to be a close game that we will win by a toe, Justin kicking the winning field goal at the end.

GO RAVENS!!!

I have not figured this one out yet we why we have two games on Monday night. That’s right, I know it makes more money.

Monday Night 7:30

0-3 Titans over 1-2 Dolphins
Don’t rush home from work, this is going to be a dog. Wait for the second game to come on.

2-1 Lions over 3-0 Seahawks
Rooting for the home team and a good game.

By the way, you can thank me for the win last week. For those who don’t know I fly a Ravens flag at home on game days. I went out and bought a new flag that I raised for last week’s game. I thought we needed to start the season over, so I got rid of the flag from the first two weeks that had the bad MOJO.

Enjoy the games with a cold one and your brother. Remember don’t jinx the Ravens in the third quarter like I almost did last week.

And that’s just The View From 151.

GO RAVENS!!!

FOR THE RAVENS, THE PLAYOFFS HAVE BEGUN

The playoffs started for the Ravens last week with a thrilling walk-off punt return by Wallace that almost made me forget we had been sitting in the rain for the last four hours. The Ravens play was as sloppy as the weather was but I always say “I will take a ugly win over a pretty loss any day”.

So, we go on the road to Jacksonville to face the first of three division leaders in the next three games. The team with the toughest remaining schedule goes to the Ravens, who face the Jaguars, 49ers on the road, the Dolphins, and Steelers at home. The Jags, 49er, and Dolphins all currently lead their divisions.

With a goal of getting the number one seed in the AFC for home field advantage throughout the playoffs (then of course winning the Super Bowl), the Ravens would need to almost win all of their remaining games. There is some wiggle room. We could lose one game but that loss can’t be to Miami. We could clinch a playoff spot with a win against Jacksonville and if Pittsburgh and Buffalo lose or Pittsburgh and Denver lose. Since both the Steelers and Broncos are playing on Saturday we will know if we are playing for a playoff spot by Saturday afternoon.

The Ravens go to Jacksonville to face a Jaguars team that is coming off a loss to Joe Flacco and the Browns. While we never want the Browns to win by them beating the Jaguars it helped us get the number one seed. Thanks Joe.

GO RAVENS!!!

My picks are who we want to win not who we think will win. So don’t bet the Christmas bonus on my picks.

Thursday 8:00

5-8 Raiders over 5-8 Chargers
This is a race to the bottom of the AFC West. Both teams are starting backup QBs. The Raiders lost in a 3-0 game last week this game may end in a 0-0 tie. This was written before the game and this is why I say never to bet on my picks. The Raiders did win with a final score of 63-21. Backup QBs rule!

Saturday? Yes, we have NFL football on Saturday! Life is great!

Saturday 1:00

7-6 Vikings over 7-6 Bengals
A Ravens win and a Bengals loss would eliminate them from winning the AFC North

Saturday 4:30

7-6 Colts over 7-6 Steelers
Not that we like to root for the Colts but when it’s against the Steelers it’s a no-brainer.

Saturday 8:15

9-4 Lions over 7-6 Broncos
This would be the trifecta. If all three teams Bengals, Steelers, and Broncos loss this sets up the Ravens to clinch a playoff spot with a win Sunday Night.

Sunday 1:00

5-8 Bears over 8-5 Browns
Sorry Joe, we need some separation.

6-7 Packers over 6-7 Buccaneers
Both teams are fighting for their playoff life. This could be a good game to watch.

5-8 Jets over 9-4 Dolphins
A Dolphins loss would take some pressure off the Ravens.

3-10 Patriots over 9-4 Chiefs
Did you see Patrick Mahomes doing his best Tom Brady impression yelling at the referees.

5-8 Titans over 7-6 Texans

Sunday 4:00

4-9 Commanders over 6-7 Rams
The DC fans will complain about a win that gives them a later draft pick.

10-3 Cowboys over 7-6 Bills
Combine this with a Steeler loss and a Ravens win gets us in the playoffs.

Sunday 8:00

10-3 RAVENS over 8-5 Jaguars
The weather forecast for Sunday in Jacksonville is rain and a lot of it just like last week in Baltimore. This game on paper sets the Ravens up for a big win. The Jaguars are banged up and the Ravens are as healthy as they have been all season. We may be the most complete team in the NFL offense, defense, and special teams (I’m still smiling about the Wallace punt return). While Jacksonville has a good offense the defense is their weakness and terrible against the pass. While it may be raining we saw how well Lamar through the ball in the rain last Sunday. Trevor Lawrence has a bum ankle and won’t be able to run away from our pass rush it’s going to be a long day for him. The Ravens will stack another win this week.

GO RAVENS!!!

Monday night 8:00

10-3 Eagles over 6-7 Seahawks
The Eagles need to bounce back form the ugly loss to the Cowboys last week.

Enjoy the games knowing you have another week to get your Christmas shopping done.

GO RAVENS!!!
